Mayfair Darjeeling Hotel Darjeeling , Darjeeling (West Bengal)

Escorted by a courteous front office associate, which I can vouch is the ultimate in luxury, the hotel was a very cosy retreat from the cold outdoors. It met our need for a quiet room perfectly. The service, led by Sabyasachi Mohanty, resort manager, Sachin, Poonam, Bhuman, Sushila, and Mahender was very well behaved and courteous. However, for the infrastructure issues including the occasional power outages and other factors out of their control. The location was very convenient, a flat walk from the Chowrasta with excellent views and a staff dedicated to ensuring a memorable experience. The dining experience was good with a wide range of choices near Kanchenjunga View Point. The facilities were well-maintained with a variety of amenities.

The hotel offers excellent room sizes with clean linen and bathrooms, abundant amenities, but it can get a bit hot/stuffy in the late afternoon. Disappointingly, the room rates for the larger rooms with king-size beds are the same as the standard ones.

The hotel is in a serene location, just 5 minutes from the main market in Darjeeling. The rooms were comfortable but lacked a refrigerator, although the staff were incredibly accommodating. The service was exceptional, with personalized attention from various staff members. The location offers breathtaking views and easy access to the Governor's house and Kanchenjunga view point.

Overall, a great value for money stay.
